Monday Oct. 5th at 7:00-8:00 PM EDT
Presented by Gravity Goldberg
Planning is not really a thing anymore. Sure we can make plans but when everything is constantly changing most of our plans end up in the trash can or being revised beyond recognition. Instead of spending hours planning, we can think of our work as designers- making pieces that can go together in different configurations to create something strong and beautiful. After all, classroom communities don’t get planned, they get built. One trust-building experience at a time, we keep showing up, helping our students show up, and in the process we grow as individuals and as a whole.
In this webinar, Gravity Goldberg will explain a few key pieces of research and how to apply them to online and hybrid workshops so that you can design for community and collaboration. Drawing on Zander and Zander’s concept of contribution along with Cuddy’s research on relationship building, you will learn what, why, and how to design spaces for students to come together as readers, writers, thinkers, and most importantly contributors. The concepts apply across grade levels and are appropriate for adult professional learning as well as for students in a k-12 setting.
10% of webinar proceeds will go to the Nyack Center which is dedicated to supporting children, youth, and families by providing educational and recreational programs. You can learn more by clicking here.
None of the proceeds go to the Literacy Consultants’ Coalition.
