Classroom libraries are the heart and soul of literacy instruction. We know that the right book at the right time can make all the difference … but only if we can access it! Covid-19 is not only impacting students’ physical access to texts, it is preventing them from browsing and selecting texts. It’s not just the books, it is the classroom library itself that is missing. This space where readers connect with one another and we connect them to books. This space where we design, organize, and reorganize baskets of books to reflect our students and our curriculum. This space where students have agency to discover their reading identity and author their reading life.
Join me to hear about some innovative ways to organize digital texts to amplify readers’ interests, identities, and preferences. In this webinar, we will explore my FREE virtual bookroom and learn how to use it to create a virtual classroom library that is organized to engage students and develop a community of readers.
10% of webinar proceeds will go to the Book Love Foundation, which is dedicated to providing books for teacher classroom libraries.
None of the proceeds go to the Literacy Consultants’ Coalition.
